Travellingby bus from Kuala Lumpur to baling
Someof the most popular and iconic destinations in Kuala Lumpur Malaysiahave come forward to define the city as a true tourism destination. The magnificent outline of the Petronas Towers and the standing imageof the Buddha are some of the things that I will never forget. Duringmy stay in the beautiful city of Kuala Lumpur, the one place that Iliked the most was Petaling Street market located right in the heartof China Town. During your stay here make sure to visit the beautifulSultan Abdul Samad building which is located in the city’s colonialquarters. After my tour in Kuala Lumpur was complete, it was time forme to head to my next destination, which was the beautiful town ofBaling. Just like the locals, I preferred traveling to Baling by busas it is quite faster, convenient and hassle free compared to traintravel. I booked my bus tickets from redbus.I was quite fortunate to find my choice of seats from their 3D viewas I booked my tickets almost a week in advance.
Balingis located in the state of Kedah, which is quite close to the bordersof Thailand. There are a quite a few interesting places to visit inBaling. The bus journey from Kuala Lumpur to Baling was simplymesmerising thanks to the view of turquoise blue waters and plushgreenery in the backdrop. The best way to travel to Baling from KualaLumpur would be to book and board an express bus. There are only 2operators plying on this route between Kuala Lumpur and Baling whichare Transnasional and Plusliner. Depending on the class of bus youbook Transnasional has about 25-30 seats in a bus making it theoperator with the most comfortable and spacious seats. Plusliner has37 seats in all class of buses. Tickets for Transnasional start fromMYR 39 whereas from Plusliner the tickets cost about MYR 38 per head.I chose to travel by Transnasional owing to the spacious seats, as Ineed a lot of legroom and elbow space. The duration of the journeybetween the two cities is about 5 hours but this is definitelysubject to change depending on the traffic you come across.Transnasional has buses almost throughout the day whereas Pluslinerhas a fixed timing of departure. Plusliner has only two departures ina day and both are at night.
Thebuses depart at 9PM and 11PM sharp. This is actually good as there isliterally no traffic during these hours. Transnasional buses departas early as 8AM in the morning and have services operating until 11PMin the night. I booked a bus for 3PM with transnasional as this is atime in the afternoon when there is hardly any traffic. In addition,I could experience the scenic views between the two cities. The staffat Transnasional was quite helpful and interactive. There are abouttwo restroom breaks during the course of the journey. The staff alsoserved us some light snacks.
